Sue Rodwell Smith lives on a marina in Cambridgeshire and has worked in IT for the past 20 years, six of those years as Director of Human Resources for a leading computer distributor. Her company Degrees of Choice Ltd., www.degreesofchoice.com, has been in business for the last 8 years providing the IT industry with quality candidates in sales, marketing and technical areas. Always spiritual in nature, she decided to embark on a new journey and has embraced the teachings of the Reiki Principles and Practice. Having received her attunements from a Reiki Master with a direct lineage to the founder of Reiki , Dr. Mikao Usui, she is now able to administer Reiki to both humans and animals. Sue has always had an empathy and love for animals from a very early age and has had quite a menagerie over the years. "The energy that surrounds every living thing is our connection to the universe with all that that can possibly offer". At the age of 60 Sue has many life experiences including divorce and bereavement but she always remains positive and optimistic with a very happy and determined outlook. Sue is happy to practice in your home in the Huntingdon area, works in a local holistic practice and at her home on the marina although she recommends that Reiki administered to animals should be in their own environment.
| The Five Reiki Principles are: Just for today do not anger Just for today do not worry Earn your living honestly Honour your parents, elders and teachers Give gratitude to every living thing and every situation
Reiki calms, relaxes, focuses, re-energises, quietens the mind, balances the emotions, strengthens the spirit, draws out emotional pain, reduces swelling, reduces physical pain, accelerates physical healing, reduces blood pressure, changes negative behaviour, attracts positivity, raises self confidence and esteem, enhances the effects of other therapies and promotes a greater ability to give and receive unconditional love.
REIKI IS NOT A RELIGION The newcomer to Reiki may be a little concerned that Reiki requires a particular belief or that perhaps it is another religion. Reiki is not a religion and requires no particular belief at all and it will not contravene any personal beliefs you currently hold. You don't even need to believe that Reiki works in order to practice it yourself, anymore that you need to believe in the power or existence of love - it just is. You do not need to have faith in Reiki for it to work for you, but once you have discovered for yourself how powerful it's effects are, you will begin to have faith in it or at least begin to trust that it works. My Reiki Master/Teacher was introduced to Reiki as a result of a severe back injury and she had tried all the traditional routes of treatment, painkillers, exercise, physiotheraphy, osteopathy, acupuncture, massage, back supports, and Alexander Techniques. Some of which helped to differing degrees but did not rid her of her back problem and continual back pain. Someone suggested Reiki which she had never heard of and sounded a little loopy, but she thought she would give it a go. The rest is history, no more back pain. She has never looked back, has been practising Reiki for the last 5 years and has been a sigificent influence in my life. Many thanks to Reiki Masters Sonia Grover and Stuart Ivory for their references and guidance. Link: www.soniagrover.co.uk
Indian Head Massage is a treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques involving work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. IHM is also used to aid the condition and health of the hair, particularly when combined with the use of natural organic oils. Indian Head Massage is used by practitioners to help reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental clarity, and relax and rejuvenate the receiver. A treatment will last between 20 minutes to one hour. | About Chakras Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or vortex and it refers to each of the seven energy centres of which our consciousness and our energy system is composed. These chakras, or energy centers, function as pumps or valves regulating the flow of energy through our energy system. The functioning of the chakras reflects decisions we make concerning how we choose to respond to conditions in our life. The tension in the chakra is detected by the nerves of the plexus associated with that chakra, and transmitted to the parts of the body controlled by that plexus. When the tension continues over a period of time or to a particular level of intensity, the chakras become blocked and the person creates a symptom on the physical level. Reiki helps to unblock the affected chakras and restores balance and harmony. The Chakras are: Crown - colour Violet Third Eye - colour Indigo Throat - colour Blue Heart - colour Green or Pink Solar Plexus - colour Yellow Sacral - colour Orange Base or Root - colour Red Reiki is a gentle, non invasive holistic energy healing system that yields powerful results for the body, mind and spirit. When using Reiki to heal, the practitioner channels healing energy through her hands to the client either directly or from a distance. It is ideal for use with animals because with Reiki, the animal controls the treatment, accepting Reiki in the ways that are most comfortable. Reiki can do no harm, it always goes to the source of the problem and works for the highest good. Animals have very strong emotions and can get sad, lonely, stressed and of course happy and loving. With many animals we will know their background and what they have experieced and some we will not. Reiki brings to them an outlet via which they can express themselves and let go of any emotional build up and rebalance. Reiki can also help to keep an animal in prime health to keep fit, healthy and happy.
